Ok I thought I'd kick off this board with a forum. Since there is already a topic for questions, I guess its time to start opinion based threads.

Personally I like 'em all. Treecko is tough, Torchic is sweet and Mudkip is cute. I pick Torchic as my favourite because of its innovativeness. The idea of a fire breathing chick seems extremely original, and thus Torchic is probably IMO one of the best ideas in the 3rd generation.

And also I like its evolved forms, Combusken and Blaziken.

My favourite is probably mudkip since in my opinion it is the cutest of all the starters and learns numerous useful moves naturally, unlike Treecko, whose best moves come through breeding and TMs. Also, the dual type of water and ground with its evolutions is extremely useful in a lot of battles, and its special defense means it'll last (unless the opponent knows grass attacks, in which case one would most likely switch.)

I'm going to have to go with mudkip. His ground-water combo is awesome. Electric attacks are weaker because of the ground, but with the water it kind of evens it out. Though really the combo is really strong.

Mudkip. Makes the game easier - - Sapphire only. Maybe Emerald.

Torchic is the cutest, and in my opinion the best battler.

His type combos is unique so better than the other 2

It seems that people are forgetting that Mudkip is pure Water.

My choice is mudkip because I like water types more than fire and mudkip looks better to me than the other two starters. Also electric moves doesn't affect him once he evolves which makes him a tough opponent to beat but the only thing i don't like about mudkip is water moves take normal hit since he's a ground type.
